TASTE.56 | GIN + TONIC, THE GO TO

Gin & Tonic has always been my go to drink when I don't know what to order, especially if I'm not feeling the wine thing.  A good Gin & Tonic goes down smooth, has that hint of lime that I love, and makes for the perfect happy hour cocktail. If you don't quite make it to happy hour on any given week, and want to enjoy the same type found at your coveted bar, this is the recipe to stick to.  Secret ingredients, tonic ice cubes (genius) and a good gin.  Found on Drizzle & Dipp, you seriously cannot go wrong.  Enjoy!

GIN + TONIC

ingredients
quantity - up to you
gin - preferably Hendricks
tonic
lime
directions
ensure you've made
the tonic ice cubes hours before
in a glass to your liking
add the gin to desired quantity
then add the tonic slowly
so you won't lose too much fizz
leave a big space for the tonic ice
gently drop as many ice cubes
into the glass as possible
gently squeeze a lime wedge over the drink
and drop a second unsqueezed into glass
using a swizzle stick, gently press down
on the ice in order to lightly mix
the citrus juice through the drink

enjoy
on a warm spring day with friends when happy hour is at home

ah! my go-to drink as well. especially at weddings with an open bar. it's a safe thing to order in case the bartender isn't the best. my husband makes fun of me cause it's an 'old lady drink'. oh well. cheers!

That is hilarious! But you are right, definitely safe. Love the tonic cubes. I think they should be required at open bars. xo.
