I love this quote by C.S Lewis. The man knew what he was talking about. In my interpretation of it, I believe you definitely have to enjoy and celebrate the memories of the past (even if some caused great pain) because happy or sad, they got you to where you are today. And today you are alive, you are able to give and receive love, you are strong and you are courageous. If we stop blaming our past for bad choices, wrong turns, unhappy relationships, we'll never be able to enjoy what may lie ahead. Or what may be right in front of you at this very moment. Life is meant to evolve, it's not meant to stay constant so put on your positive hat and evolve with it. I think you'll be surprised just how awesome it feels and more importantly, how everything turns out.

Just a few thoughts on this Monday morning. Have a great week, my friends.

Really good. Man I have been finding some awesome blog posts that are so REAL and exactly what I need to hear. IN a sea of blogs that post about style and all these sometimes frivolous things....I am loving these let's get real posts. hmmm, maybe we are on to something.

Hi Alecia, thank you very much for stopping by Fourth Street, for your wonderful comment, but most importantly, for introducing me to Likes of Us. What a profound and moving blog. I'm with you on the movement. Sure, it's great to see killer style and design that makes you want to cry (in a good way), but not everything is cheery ALL the time and that is ok. Your bookmarked. Lovely to meet you.

Jamy- so lovely to meet you also and seriously thank you for your sweet words. You are bookmarked as well. And yes you are so right, I still love seeing all the style/beauty things that are out there ( I mean my pinterest is filled with over 9,000 pins, ha) , but every once in awhile it is nice to come back to reality and connect on a much deeper level! I think I might start a column about getting real (maybe make some sort of blogger movement once a month)....I remember when a ton of top bloggers did this on the subject ....things I am afraid to tell you. Not sure if you are familiar with it. I wish bloggers did this more often. -Alecia

I do remember the "Things I'm Afraid to Tell You" movement. I remember reading so many posts and being in awe of the reality of what some of the emotions the bloggers actually go through. It was very, REAL. I liked that and yes, wish it was a monthly or quarterly thing. By the way, I'm sure you read Kate Arend's post from Wit & Delight yesterday. It was amazing. It now has to be one of my favorite posts ever.
