MEANWHILE, IN SANTA FE

With the first day of fall hitting Santa Fe in full force this past weekend, I couldn't help but share these photos that show the beautiful season transition we get to experience each year.  Welcome to Big Tesuque---or as I like to call it---my husbands playground.  The photo above is from the second horseshoe on "Big T" taken this past summer.  To get to this overlook you must take on a grueling six mile mountain bike climb to roughly twelve thousand feet.   Painful? Yes.  Worth it?  Depends on who you ask ;)

Come winter, this lovely trail quickly turns into an out of bounds snowy, steep, windy decent that skilled skiers love to rip up every chance they get.  Side note--this is all secondhand knowledge, which I much prefer.  But from all the photos I've seen over the years, the one below is my favorite.  For the majority of September, the aspens change from a light green to a deep yellow-orange mix and look stunning against the blue sky.  I love.
